There’s a contention in quantum physics that every time something happens, every time the blur of probabilities resolves into a concrete reality, another universe splits off on an alternate timeline, a new road leading from this one. It sounds counterintuitive — it sounds ludicrous — but is, apparently, at least theoretically possible.
