Recent months have seen a flurry of international wine days, dreamed up to bolster the reputation and sales of particular varietal wines. May alone celebrates International Sauvignon Blanc Day (May 5), World Pinot Grigio Day (May 17) and International Chardonnay Day (May 20). While these three hardly suffer from under-exposure, the perennial dates are an excuse to reconsider what wine styles they offer.
