Ruanmore House, Tinteskin, Kilmuckridge, Co Wexford AMV €300k Quinn Property (053) 948 0000

Ruanmore House is said to have been built in 1900, although in fact there’s a house marked on the site on the first-edition OS map, from a survey in 1839.

It’s a four-bedroom traditional farmhouse in good order, with three reception rooms plus a kitchen. The two first-floor bedrooms have en-suite showers.

The total internal space is 1,869 sq ft and there are grounds of half an acre with outbuildings. It’s 1.5km from Kilmuckridge and less than five kilometres from the blue-flag Morriscastle Beach which, it’s claimed, is the longest beach in Ireland. The house will be auctioned online on Tuesday, April 5 at 3pm.

Rathvilly House, Rathvilly, Co Carlow

Rathvilly House, Rathvilly, Co Carlow AMV €400k Jordan Town and Country (045) 433 550

The village of Rathvilly is on the banks of the Slaney in north County Carlow, close to the borders of both Wicklow and Kildare.

Rathvilly House is in the centre of the village, so it is somewhat unusual in that it has seven acres of land going with it. The agents suggest there may be development potential.

The house itself is 2,000 sq ft with four upstairs bedrooms and a fifth bedroom downstairs. The ground floor also has a sitting and a dining room, both with open fires, and a kitchen with a Rayburn, and the whole needs renovation.

The auction is on Thursday, April 7 at 3pm online.

Capparoe, Scarriff, Co Clare

Capparoe, Scarriff, Co Clare AMV €180k Sherry FitzGerald McMahon (065) 686 7866

Dating from the late 19th-century, this stone-built farmhouse four kilometres from Scarriff is part of a smallish farm for sale in separate lots. The principal lot consists of the house and outbuildings on 1.38 acres.

Although it needs some refurbishment, it has a pleasant setting with an avenue, trees and long views over the east Clare countryside. Inside, it’s 1,000 sq ft with three bedrooms upstairs and a kitchen and living room downstairs. An arched stained-glass window lights the stairs.

The entire property – including the house, outbuildings and a little over 38 acres of land – has an AMV of €375,000. The online auction is on Thursday, March 24 starting at 4pm.

Lisney, Loughduff, Co Cavan

Lisney, Loughduff, Co Cavan AMV €276k Sherry FitzGerald Declan Woods (049) 438 0038

In the townland of Lisanny (or Lisney) are two raths or ringforts, 200 metres apart. Between them used to stand Lisanny House, a sizeable farmstead from the late 19th century of which literally not a trace remains, not even in satellite imagery.

All that’s left is a 500-metre avenue now leading to nowhere. Near these remnants of old settlements is a cluster of new arrivals, among them this detached property on 1.4 acres, lavishly fitted out like many houses of its early-2000s era.

It’s 2,465 sq ft with four first-floor bedrooms, two en-suite with walk-in wardrobes. The ground floor has two reception rooms plus a kitchen/ dining room and a study. There’s also a 255 sq ft lofted garage.

The auction is next Wednesday, March 23 at noon.
