Harold’s Cross: The neighbourhood becoming Dublin’s new hotspot

If you want to live in an area that is bustling in its own right but still close to the city centre then Harold’s Cross really should be at the top of your list. It's near the canal which means you can easily zip around the city’s south sideor pop into nearby Rathmines or Kimmage to get your groceries.
It is served well by Dublin Bus (routes 9, 16, 49, 54A and 83). And don’t forget, Harold’s Cross is just a 20 minute walk from the city so you can always make the most of your morning commute and get some exercise in.
Community spirit
Harold’s Cross almost feels like a village (despite it’s proximity to the city centre). Neighbours speak to each other, there’s plenty of local clubs to join and the area is well-known for its community events and fundraisers
The Harold’s Cross Community Festival is probably the biggest event on the neighbourhood calendar. Founded in 2009, the festival takes place in May each year and includes a children’s carnival, music, art, literature, history and walking tours. To comply with social distancing rules, this year they ran the HX Stay @ Home Festival which allowed locals to tune in and watch events online.
