The Platinum VIP Style Awards rolled out their red carpet at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre for the 20th time to celebrate Ireland’s most stylish celebrities.

Doireann Garrihy once again hosted the event, crowning the winners of the awards.

Famous faces hit the red carpet for the VIP Style Awards 2023 in Dublin

Most Stylish Woman went to Suzanne Jackson, Most Stylish Online Influencer went to Terrie McEvoy, Look of the Year went to Georgie Crawford, Most Stylish Newcomer went to Emma Power, Most Stylish Man went to Arthur Gourounlian, Favourite Designer went to Helen Steele, Best Dressed on the Night went to Carol Byrne and The Sustainable Style Award went to Roz Purcell.

Over 150 Irish celebrities were in attendance, including new fathers Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian – both of whom were both nominated for Most Stylish Man.

When asked if there was tension in the household ahead of the ceremony, Brian said: "Not at all, clearly Arthur knows that I am the winner. I have been begging for votes since they released the nominees, Arthur's probably begged twice, which makes me think maybe I am a little too thirsty.

"I did it because I feel like I need it, where Arthur is like 'if it happens, it happens."

When asked if the two ever share clothes, Brian said: "Yes, these are Arthur's shoes."

Singer Lyra was up for Look of the Year, for a dress she wore to the Child-Line and Brown Thomas Fashion show. However, on Friday night she could not stay long at the awards to find out if she won, as she was performing at the Sunday Independent's Rock Against Homelessness gig in the 3Olympia after the red carpet.

"I just passed it in the taxi coming up and the queue going down the street is ridiculous, I was like 'I just have to go do a red carpet, I will be straight back,” Lyra said.

"I need to get myself focused and get into artist mode, as opposed to fancy dress mode."

Speaking of her nomination, she said: "I am nominated for Look of the Year, may even get look of the night, you never know.

"This outfit is from a Cork store called Phoenix V, they actually designed it for me, I told them what I wanted, obviously arse out is essential for me on stage. They were like 'do you not want a long dress for the red carpet and your arse out for the show?' And I was like 'arse out always’."

Celia Holeman Lee was also in attendance, taking a nomination for Most Stylish Woman of the year.

Wearing a beautiful red ball-gown from Phoenix V, she said: "It feels fantastic to be nominated, and to be here in this beautiful convention centre, I have never been here before but I won the first ever VIP Style Awards and I have been nominated every year since," she said.

"Since then, fashion has gotten more adventurous, as you can see the long ball-gown/evening wear is all gone."

Also nominated for Most Stylish Man was presenter James Patrice, saying he was 'terribly shocked' when he heard of his nomination.

"I went with this floral number, it fits me and it doesn't look s***e," he said.

"It was great to be nominated, it really is, great category, loads of amazing men. I think men in Ireland are upping their antiques when it comes to fashion."

He headed to the red carpet after a quick wardrobe change from the Today Show as they filmed their last show for the summer earlier in the day.

James joked about tension between himself and his co-presenter Daithi Ó Sé, as he was also nominated for Most Stylish Man of the year.

"We haven't spoken since the nominations in March, it's been terrible. We speak on screen but that is it. We don't look at each other, I tried to poison him but that didn't work."

But James added: "No, Daithi is amazing and a very stylish man, he looks great in a tux and out of one, not that I would know."

Rosanna Davison took home Look of the Year at last year's VIP Style Awards and once again pulled out all the stops in a yellow tulle ball gown.

Speaking to Independent.ie, she said: "I went to my first VIP Style Awards in 2004 as Miss World, so it has been many years that I have been coming and enjoying the night.

"It's always one of the best nights of the year, everyone enjoys dressing up and enjoys the spectacle. I don't think I have ever seen so much tulle, glitter, and sequins."

The dress Rosanna was wearing was from a Ukrainian brand, she said: "It's my way of just showing my continuing support to Ukraine and Ukrainian people."
